AMD Announces Ryzen PRO Series Processors

On April 16, AMD announced the Ryzen PRO Series of commercial processors based on the new Zen 4, RDNA 3, and XDNA architectures, including the Ryzen PRO 8040 Series for laptops and the Ryzen PRO 8000 Series for desktops, for a total of 16 processors. These processors are powered by Ryzen AI technology, including the AMD Zen 4 CPU architecture, RDNA 3 architecture GPU and XDNA architecture NPU, and are built on a 4nm process with AMD PRO technology and support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

The AMD Ryzen PRO 8040 series for notebooks is still divided into HS and U series, with the HS series targeting content creation platforms and mobile workstations, and the U series targeting the high-end thin and light notebook market. The AMD Ryzen PRO 8000 Series for desktops includes both the Ryzen PRO 8000G Series and the GE Series, which is divided into three models, the Ryzen 7, 5, and 3, with the G Series having a power consumption range of 45W to 65W, and the GE Series having a power consumption of 35W.

AMD said OEM partners, including Lenovo and HP, will also introduce a variety of notebooks and commercial desktops based on the Ryzen PRO 8040/8000 series processors.

Adobe Acrobat AI Assistant Goes Live

On April 16, Adobe announced that the Acrobat AI Assistant is now available in Acrobat Reader, on the desktop, and on the Web. The AI Assistant will enable functions such as extracting key information, summarizing content, and facilitating navigation through long documents, so that taxpayers can parse documents, consumers can view terms of service agreements, and students can create study guides based on academic materials. Adobe is also offering “smart citation” functionality that allows users to verify the source of generated content. This feature is currently available as an add-on subscription for $4.99 per month.

Microsoft’s OneNote Arrives on Apple Vision Pro

On April 16, Microsoft released the OneNote native app for Apple Vision Pro, based on the Vision Pro’s spatial calculations that support an “infinite canvas” and can be displayed side-by-side with other Microsoft apps that are already available on the platform (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.). In terms of functionality, the Vision Pro version includes the same features as the iPad version, including taking notes, creating digital notebooks, marking important notes, creating to-do lists, locking notes with a password, syncing to the OneDrive cloud drive, and sharing notes with others. At the same time, the product is optimized specifically for Vision Pro, giving users the freedom to choose to operate it with gestures or via a Bluetooth-connected keyboard and trackpad.

Microsoft also confirmed that future updates will include support for Copilot and dual authentication.
